The operation of any website causes Co2 emissions due to electricity consumption. The "Co2 neutral website" initiative compensates for this and offsets the total Co2 emissions. It calculates the emissions based on the number of individual page views and the average consumption for hosting the website.

To ensure the CCo2 reductions of a Co2-neutral website, investments are made in various climate and environmental protection projects that neutralize these emissions. These include, for example, plants for the generation of renewable energies, a rainforest project of the international nature conservation organization "World Land Trust" in Ecuador or a water project in Africa.

The Co2 offsets are regularly audited in terms of approach and amount by the auditing firm Deloitte.

We are proud and pleased to be one of more than 2,500 companies from more than 50 countries that have neutralized their websites Co2.
