Emma Looney joined the company as Head of Portfolio Management in October 2018. Emma has over 18 years of experience in the asset management industry. Prior to joining HALFI, Emma was the Head of the Thematic and Emerging Equity team in KBC Fund Management Limited. Emma joined the portfolio management team in KBC Fund Management Limited in 2003 where she managed their global thematic equity portfolios. In 2009, Emma was appointed as Head of Thematic and Emerging Equity Funds. In this role, Emma was responsible for overseeing the management of over forty equity funds and managing a team of portfolio managers. She has experience in managing a diverse range of products, including Socially Responsible (SRI), quantitative, thematic and passive portfolios in developed, emerging and frontier markets.

Emma graduated from University College Cork with a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm Hons.) degree and a first class honours Masters of Economics (MBS). Emma is a CFA Charter-holder since 2005 and she is a member of CFA Society Ireland.
